My rain gauge has tipped!

Mine's completely covered in a drift that's a good metre or more deep!  Will be interesting to melt what's hiding there when it frees a bit.

@matt111

From the Daily Echo...

'Southampton Football Club is continuing to monitor conditions ahead of the Premier League home game against Stoke City.

Saints are set to welcome Paul Lambert’s team to St Mary’s tomorrow afternoon, for a 3pm GMT kick-off.

Following heavy snowfall in the region, the club has been consulting with Hampshire Police, Southampton City Council, the Premier League and Stoke, and will continue dialogue throughout the day with all relevant parties.

We will continue to keep supporters informed and plan to issue a further update at 5pm GMT today.'

Lightly snowing again on the edge of the Plain here in Old Sarum. A photograph of the aftermath of last night's snow, which made some interesting wave-like drifts down the road.

(Note, the big "drifts" in the background are actually piles of chalk!)

Surely this should have remained Amber for Bristol and Cardiff areas?

Moderate snow now. Nice!:cold:

Certainly is here too now, some of the best we've had yet. Picture doesn't really do it justice though. The footprints from this morning are already starting to fill in.....

SOME PICS + FREEZING RAIN BACK TO SNOW WATCH FOR ALL OUR COASTAL MEMBERS

If you have read all this and later on you think others who provide regular updates and readings on here might have missed my "appeal" for this "snow/fr.rain watch", perhaps you can send them a reminder post, PM or sticky note.

How exciting!!!! This thread IS historic and now its going to be helpful to science too!!

Please, everybody read David's fabulous post and request for information (RFI). :D Lets try to get as accurate information as we possibly can to David with our posts.

It's surprising how heavy it is coming down here as it doesn't look much on radar.

Moderate snow and moderate sized flakes! Not even in the main bulk of green!

EDIT: Heaviest snow we've had so far, why couldn't we have this all yesterday!

Snow coming down heavily in Yate over the last half hour. Level snow hard to measure as it's been blowing around so much but I would guess at around 15cm and counting.

It could be due to it gaining in intensity, every radar frame shows some heavier picking up, so that could be the case.

First signs of dripping from the roof. Amazing event and one that will be remembered for along time. Rain this evening and 8/9 degrees by Sunday down here. G&T's in the garden with a bit of warmth before we know it. Good luck to those a little further north over the next few days. ? I'll keep looking at photos but like a good holiday when you know it's nearly done you want to be home. Looking forward to next year already, don't do models and weather in the summer as nothing really interests me that much. Thanks all for fabulous photos and input.

Regards

My dangler sensor reads -1.7C.

My weather station says -0.7°C. I’ve also got a dangler sensor which says 0.0°C but more interestingly with last nights freezing rain the sensors now frozen onto the window and I can’t move the wire.
