*thanks to this forum* told the Thursday night football lads last week, that "by next week we wont be playing because of snow" - was met with a few puzzled looks and a few sniggers, lol, well guess what, no football tonight! Thanks guys :)

I must admit I had to bite my tongue earlier in the week as I as did many on here suspected something was going to happen but couldn't say for certain because of the lack of agreement between the models. I'm just glad we got snow as all too often we've seen the GFS forecast snow only for it to downgrade it to rain.

Normally, always the way in these setups. They either come too far north giving us rain or miss us and Northern France get the goods.

Really good amounts fallen here, around 11cm. Have noticed slight ice accumulations on some of the snow. So maybe we had some freezing rain as the main bulk shifted north.

Dry now and windy. -0.3c

I took a bit of a risk opening my mouth, my instinct was to stay stay quiet, but had a good feeling on this one, mainly due to Catacol originally and then the bullishness of the met office helped.

Pleased it came off anyway, had a great day and seems everyone is happy. All good.

Yep. Been a thoroughly entertaining 24 hours in here, very enjoyable reading everyone's experiences, pictures, jokes, analysis etc :)

I agree it's been nice to read everyone's posts. It's been very positive in here as for once we haven't been stuck on the sidelines whilst the other regions bang on about how much snow they've had.

It sounds like it is just pure rain now, if it is, it's tipping it down!

I can't measure it either, as the gauge is filled with frozen substances. lol

53 members on here vs only 20 in the MAD thread. Been very quiet over there. Seems no one wants to talk about the models whilst the radar is showing weather porn.

There's only about 10 members in my East Anglia and North London thread, lol.  Nothing today in East Hertfordshire, but can't complain as had 4 different decent snowfalls this winter so far. :)

Hah, yes, great minds!

Not sure how you change your name, had mine on here a long time although I've not really been an active poster until this winter!

Can anyone else remember the last time the south coast has been covered by weather warnings for a week?

Some of the most historically largest UK snowfalls have occurred in the South West, it really is the jackpot zone when the conditions are right.

Looks like the chance of more snow tomorrow then a thaw out sunday and early next week.  Then another low later next week that could bring more cold.

Never mind. It is all rain. I can see puddles on the flat roof.

Temperature: -0.7 °C
Dew Point: -2.0 °C
Wetbulb Temperature: -1.1 °C

It's peeing down!

yeah - think it looks like a Brucie Bonus. Could edge too west for me, though. I think the low flattens and fronts will pivot back over later tomoz.

Amazing that it's rain, although Wareham is only just above sea level, if it was 50m higher probably still be snow.
