So is that it for tonight in Bristol area . What the feeling about tomorrow?

From the reports I have seen and I hope others can confirm, same time tomorrow apparently. Maybe not as long though.

Anyone?

This is probably it for Exeter, as we now have light ice pellets (probably for the best that the really intense stuff to the south kept fizzling before it got here, as it would probably have been an ice storm).  Level depth approximately 17-18cm, though with variations due to drifting.

We are being buried... :-)

Slightly less over the top - looks like the MetO call of about 8 inches when all is said and done may be pretty close to the mark. It's drifting around a bit - I took a walk out at about 8pm and there are parts at about a foot deep and others at no more than 1 or 2 inches... but overall by walk to work time I would expect around 8 inches. I'll measure and report.. :-)

Still snowing - obviously. :-)

Really chuffed for you?? nervous times getting here but worth the wait.

Me and it's still coming down thick and fast here, flakes haven't got any bigger all day though, if they'd been a bit bigger we'd be buried by now.

This ice is relentless!! Can’t keep up surely? It’s not melting my snow though! Just a firm crust on top of it lol

Any chance it might turn back to snow?

Definitely ice mixed in with the snow here now, I can hear it on the windows. Seemed to arrive with the heaviest precipitation as we have been under the bright radar echos for the last 30 mins. :nonono:

Warm front has the increased precipitation on it, anything on the north and east if it will be ok. Im underneath it also in southampton. Seen temp rise 0.5-0.7c an hour for the last couple. Almost rain here now..shame

Yes. For a day or 3 my nerves got the better of me as the macro pattern turned less good, and the jitters set in... but ultimately it has been worth the wait. Tomorrow will be glorious - I have to go into work, but it will be a very slow day, and I intend to spend a lot of it sat on a bench under an awning on the main school field staring out across the snowscape and hopefully watching a few more flakes come down before any thaw sets in on Saturday. :-)

The walk to work itself is something I'd pay money to do. Ever noticed how friendly everyone gets when snow is falling - strangers suddenly start talking! I feel lucky. Calcutta Cup win... now snow.... so for my third and final trick a jackpot on a scratch card. :-)

After a brief lull in the snow it seems to have picked up again with larger snowflakes.

Still going Wylye A303. Probably 6 inches

Yes, still going in Old Sarum, and I advise any locals not to attempt the A345 up to Amesbury, which is currently blocked going North, and only handfuls of cars are coming South...

The snow is the heaviest it's been here all day now, the wind isn't as bad as earlier but still gusty.

Possibly, think it will be hit and miss with the freezing rain as it seems to be patches of slightly warmer air mixing along the front.

Great news!! We're doing good in Portsmouth too, 8cm on level surfaces, still snowing and luckily no freezing rain yet. I'd have settled for that at the start of February!! :)
