It looks like that band over the channel is disaperating and isn't even on course to hit me here in north Devon! A dusting of snow for me today. I am beyond words, no words can describe how terrible, sad and gut wrenched I feel right now.

Rats, freezing rain/ice now here in Exeter. 15-20cm of lying snow dropping to less than 5cm in the past hour.  Tomorrow morning is going to be a mare, especially if it snows on top of the ice.  Walked home from work and there are plenty of idiots trying to drive round exeter while it was still snowing, if they are still driving in this :nonono:

Got some orange & patchy red echoes heading this way now on the radar and it is hammering it down, flakes are certainly bigger now.

Temp up to -1C now. At this rate, I might fail to get an ice day. LOL

The only bonus of that will be a thaw and not a full on ice storm!!

Just stepped outside (while holding onto the door) and I couldn't even step onto the path without my foot sliding over the ice. This could get very nasty.

Yes I think it is pivoting across to the red warning areas.

Is there such a thing as Blizzard Freezing rain, wow.

Its was dangerous out there , it so now.

Yes - its called an ice storm, occasionally happens in the US/Canada, possibly one of the most destructive types of weather outside flooding/Tornado/Hurricanes.  Probably videos on you tube, remember footage of one from the 80's, trees and Pylons flattened.

My car is covered in ice so are my house doors and windows

I went outside into the garden and experienced an ice storm for the first time, the snow is frozen the daffodils are frozen and blown flat.

Still no dripping so everything is still white, but glistening in the torch light.

Amazing.

I fear the same. Seems to be just skirting us for the past couple of hours.

Met Office forecast is a bit of a kick in the teeth when you see what's going on outside. However, it's been a good day! 15 - 20cm would be in the ballpark of what snow fell. The backdoor is still drifted up, approx. 2ft. I dread to think what state it will all look in tomorrow, especially after this freezing rain!

Make sure its not frozen shut. There is still the potential for it to turn back to snow perhaps. What an epic day. The whole of the UK is covered by one or other of the traffic light weather warnings right now.
