Anyone on top of Cotswolds or even Birdlip that can give extreme updates?

I'm about a half of the way up to Birdlip on slad road ( peghouse, uplands) and even though I'm no where near the altitude (about 100meters asl Birdlip about 200ish) I can honestly say I have never seen such blizzard conditions. The snow isn't really heavy, but with the insane wind blowing so strong and gusty the conditions are quite remarkable :0

Still definitely snow here, albeit still the fine flakes we have had most of the day.

Temp -2.5c

Dew point -6c

Those brighter echoes in the channel are taking an age to make it onto land, very frustrating!

I think the Mendips gobble it up.

Actually it is pretty rough out there. The wind speed has really increased in last 30 mins. Driving snow.

Just noticed my window which is east facing is covered in ice. Still what appears to be ice pellets falling here.

Very teeny ice pellets here but mainly nothing at all. Very weird after having snow all day.

Yeah. Sort of. I can see it covering up tyre tracks and footprints.

The falling snow is really swirling around in all directions. I really should venture out but 'er indoors thinks i'm a bit over the top when it snows like this:D

Anyone see lightning just then? Sky lit up purple to my west.

Nothing on the lightning detector, unless it was a power flash?

I'm still hoping for more but I think this may be it for us here. It was a bloody spectacular day though.

Moderate intensity ice pellets now with a few snowflakes mixed in.

Wind picking up a bit. Kind of hoping it doesn't turn to freezing rain before it gets stronger later this evening so the snow it can drift around more.

The snow keeps coming for a while yet according to hirlam which has been pretty accurate so far

Dartmoor certainly bearing the brunt of it, and 15cms quite widely by Saturday morning.

Nope, not here. Very bizarre outside. Wind getting up. Doesn't look like snow. Sounds like ice pellets. Hope we don't get freezing rain. That will be evil!

Just walked to the Spar, which was closed! Saw lightning flashes to the east, Hampshire way. Icy patches on the pavement where snow has blown away. Aw hell. Let's go back out in it & try the Black Bear. These days don't happen often! :D

I just saw that maybe it’s the power lines shorting out with all this freezing rain
