I'm under a yellow / orange echo, nothing spectacular at the moment.

You answered the question I was just about to ask... disappointing answer though  ;-)

Arghhhh! The heavy stuff on the radar made a sharp left turn just as it was about to hit Portsmouth and missed me!! Good for you further west!! Still mustn't be greedy...

Hi Kevvo. For info about freezing rain. I grew up in the north cotswolds and was at secondary school in the 1962/3 winter. We had about three weeks of freezing rain.  When you were out in it it was just rain but all the trees, paths, telegraph wires etc.were coated in about an inch of ice. The wires and branches would keep snapping off. The previous drifted snow was rock hard and covered in a layer of solid ice. We used to walk right over the hedges as the snow was like concrete. Not seen freezing rain now for about 20 years. We have a place on the south coast in Christchurch and none of the neighbors had a clue what we were talking about when I mentioned freezing rain - its that rare and and its deadly so I hope you don't get much if any.

Glad to know that I'm nae the only one who remembers that. I recall the raindrops freezing onto my windowpanes and the terrific amount of glare that came off the glaze. Horrible!

I'm just to the south of you, near derriford roundabout, the wind has really picked up now. Ice pellets hitting my window. not quite sure what is falling though as wind is that strong. whizzing past the lampposts!! horrible conditions out there.

Totally brutal!

Superb Kevvo. Grab as 4 pack of Maggie (Thatchers) and proper pork scratchings.

Magners, or Thatchers??? Either will do. Stuff the pork scratchings,or is that stuffed pork? I'm confusing myself now! :fool:

Steps are there somewhere

Nice drift, your level depth looks the same as here. Doors are proving tricky, sweeps the snow away as you open them but then sucks some underneath so you can't close them again.

I’d rather everything misses me now so my snow doesn’t go away ☹️ Had a full day sledging planned for tomorrow

looks like he only thing I’ll be sledging tomorrow is my beloved Arsenal

Re freezing rain, I’m sure it happened at some point in December 2010 and the M27 near Southampton Airport was shut for a short time. Can anyone else remember this?

Most of  green echoes are dying just before they get here but there's still a lot of snow. Also noticed it's quite light outside.

Full moon

Mapantz, has the wind got up your way?

Yeah, a bit. It wasn't anywhere near as windy as the forecast suggested. It is stronger now, better late than never.

I was glad of that earlier. Snow still felt like needles on my face walking home from work. My poor son had to walk 4 miles in it to get home from work. Mine was only half hour walk. Not looking forward to walking to work tomorrow morning at 6am lol
