Is there a chance this freezing ice rain turns back to snow or is that it now?

Yes I think it’s quite likely

Good to hear you and Neddies are ok... Bless you. Well done. Bet they were pleased to see you?

They were not happy bunnies and the oldest was really freaking out due to the incredibly high winds. Will do my best to get to them in the morning. They've got tons of hay but water buckets are frozen solid :( offered some warm water but no takers. Only an inch at home, think we might of had some freezing rain since I got back as car is covered in ice! How much do you have @festivalking

Freezing rain that is associated with ice storms is supercooled water. It instantly turns to  ice on contact with the ground/surfaces. Supercooled water

Not good! It’s like tiny flakes of ice! Very strange. I want it to p**s off immediately and return the snow ☹️

That's what we had in Wembury.  Gone back to dryer snow now.  With hind site, it probably wasn't freezing drizzle in Wembury.  It certainly didn't have that dangerous coating effect.

Hello from next door, can someone confirm if ANYTHING is falling from the sky in the Portsmouth area. Trying to resolve whether the radar is playing with us.

Thanks in Advanced.

Been quite epic inland from Fowey, lots of snow, with drifting in the lanes. Went for a long walk at about 16:00 and ended up with snow/icicles in my beard (I won't post a picture through fear of offence!).

I'll let myself down terribly now & say, I'm sure I would recognise you, but can't place you. Call in at the ground maintenance resource facility (Our garage) sometime.

Aha, I don't think the 850hpa temperatures are quite sufficient for freezing rain for our locations yet.

It looked as though I would manage -3 but it is rising quite quickly now, to a mild -2.1

Freezing rain, isn't rain that is frozen in mid air, it's rain which freezes instantly when it hits the ground.
