can anyone hazard a guess as to how far east the really heavy precip currently in the channel will get? Nearest town? will it be further east than predicted?

Best bet is to watch how it evolves over the channel and see if it expands eastwards I think.

Just had an hour in the local park with my 7 year old and almost 2 years old.  I don’t know how some people don’t like snow!! Days like these are what dreams are made of!

Isle of Wight watch - still moderately snowing in Newport.

Not feeling the love for it currently, still have very fine flakes blowing around in the wind with no real depth yet.

Same as me. It's truely heartbreaking to be honest. Been looking forward to this for over a week. Really thought I would be nailed on for heavy snow.

Maybe it will pick up later, fingers crossed!!! It is brutal out there though, very unpleasant in the strong wind, snow that has drifted has a brown tinge to it, seems the dust from the yard etc has blown with it and turned it a sandy colour.

Very powdery snow here in Wantage, but the wind is getting up.  Think this could be a epic night.  Do you know some languages have many words for snow, different types, in south of England we have only need for the one word, and in recent winters, none.  Not any more!

Snowed in here think it's time for a beer.

Good call! Was going to wait until 6pm, if I open the bottle real slow I’ll make it to 5pm...
