The heavy fine snow continues :D

The yellows and oranges on the NW rainfall radar keep expanding.

https://www.netweather.tv/live-weather/radar

If it maintains that intensity then I think the red warning area could be expanded. I wouldn't even rule out some of the more intense bursts reaching here in Southampton!

But what's it to be CE?

For me, on a day like today* and in honour of this thread; it can only be.

I'll see if I can hunt down a porter. I wanna be able to chew it.

And then a gin chaser.

Snow has become a bit thinner again.

It's proper fine powdery snow:D

It hasnt stopped since 1 oclock. It reminds me of the great NYE 1978 blizzard (winter 78/79). Fine stuff with winds for first few hours then boom!!:D

That was where I got my snow obsession from. 10 years old living in Hanham and took my dad a day to dig us out the back of the house. omg imagine if we got something like that?

Lets hope the heaviest of the snow arrives at the same time as the strongest winds/gusts. These look to arrive around 8-9pm with gusts in excess of 50mph.

A few of you are still misinterpreting these charts :)  The vast majority of our blizzard will not move up from France and Biscay - it will develop rapidly much closer to home in the Channel as the flow engages with our dense cold block and tries to under cut it but rises over it. So watch both the infra red satellite as well as the radar. In about an hour to two hours (1630 to 1730) there will some mind boggling developments.  David

EDIT:  @divadee   Definitley and the red warning area should be expanded very soon :)

I want to thank you for your explanations by the way. I have learnt more from you in the past few days than I thought possible.

Yeah that would be perfect.

Looks like we're about to get some more intense snow in the next 10 mins or so. Hopefully much bigger flakes.
