Now the snow has set in across the SW going to be a very snowy 9-12hrs coming up (though it will turn very marginal by the end, freezing rain a distinct possibility) for you guys, widespread 10-20cms coming up, bet some places will be north of that as well!

Sadly they appear thin on the ground for East devon/Exeter other than ones on the coast which may not give a true reflection of conditions.  Exmouth one here http://www.exmouthcam.co.uk/ Starcross (you have to wait) here http://www.starcross-fcc.com/webcam/ and dawlish here http://www.dawlishwarren.info/webcam/

Moderate, occasionally heavy, persistent snow here in Exeter since just after mid day. About 2-3 inches settled.

This is Postbridge, middle/top of Dartmoor

Wow - you just beat me to it.  My tipple tonight will be . . . . IMG_1614.thumb.JPG.07ef19fd740e5dec2e181615103531b9.JPG

@BARRY Green is snow/rain I think, but it is a prediction and not a detection and the more knowledgeable on here say it should fall as snow over land.

Never in my life did I think it would be to cold to snow in Bristol that in its self is remarkable!

The lower the dew points the dryer the air. Dry air = powder snow.

Good to see the SW with real Northern conditions - enjoy and stay safe - will soon be on the beach in Purbeck in July :D

Nice to find such a good community,

Snowing Well in Andover.

Around 2 inches since Yesterday and some small little drifts. Just been out in the garden to check on my koi pond its well frozen over, but all the pumps and filters are still working but have to check on them every hour or so.. In all the years of having my pond it has never frozen like this before!!

Now off to walk the dogs before it all gets to bad outside.....

Welcome, lostinthewoods.

Where is the pumped water going? My first experience of a frozen pond was 2010 - the fountain pumped all the water out and there was only about 2 inches left by the time I found out! Just a big gap under the ice.  They all survived, though - tough as old boots, my goldfish.

Nice... All non-South/South West beers are banned this evening.

I've got a couple of Bath Ales too.

Anyone got any good webcams for Devon/Cornwall?

No live stream I'm afraid, but I have two on www.caiels.com that update every minute.  They are in Wembury, 6 miles south East of Plymouth.  1 mile from the coast.

That radar just posted seems to indicate a pretty big expansion to earlier forecasts to my relatively untrained eye. If it is larger with more energy though, wont it push through too quickly and introduce less cold air quicker tomorrow? Any thoughts?

Cannot remember carnage like this in South Devon, snow came in so fast, just taken 2 and half hours to do a 20 min journey. Waited years for this, in total heaven right now. Snow so heavy and this isn' t even the worst yet. Totally amazing here

Hey All,

Dunkeswell reporting -5/-7 at 15:00 !!!

Amazing to walk around earlier here in Cirencester, and see the powder snow dancing around on the wind - I haven't seen this for 20 years plus. If anyone remembers the easterly we had in 2005, it made my mind up that the end of february was just a little bit too late for snow conditions in an easterly. This is something else! :)

Is anyone else getting radar blindness? I think this is a real condition.

Just popping in from Great Yarmouth on the East Coast, where we have been literally cut off for a couple of days. Enjoy the snow, and hope you all stay safe in the storm.
