No idea just means your not covered if you crash... I suppose argument is you had ample warning etc.

Guys who told you that? I'm an Insurance Broker and that is complete rubbish.

No melting here overnight.  Solid layer of ice outside under yesterday’s snow.  Very unusual for us subtropical sheltered Devonians.

dont think my subtropical plants think much of it though!???

Just been for a Walk into Upton had breakfast at Upton central, very nice it was too! Kids loving the snow, snow drifts already present, covering curbs, building up against fences. Hoping we get a big dollop later on top of the 2 ish cms already on the ground!!

I think im detecting first hints of ppn building in the Chanel. another couple hours time it could start to nudge into your region?

Yes looks that way! I hate the lull LOL I want it now, but at the same time, I prefer snow at night where it’s untouched, can we have both please :D

Here in Portsmouth, got that slightly sick feeling that we could miss out completely - the ARGEPE has updated and shifted so now roughly in line with the Met Office warnings which I'm now 5 miles outside - still suggesting up to 5cm tonight here (I'd take that right now) and maybe a few more cm tomorrow - but I'm still concerned it will all be frozen rain instead.

Really,  really pleased that it looks like the Purbeck/Bournemouth snow shield is being shattered though. Enjoy your red zone further west!

At least there is no threat of it melting in daytime that normally reason i like to see it at night.

What do u think for our chances? Nothing yet in Shanklin just want some laying snow ???? Knowing our luck it’ll be nothing ??? any idea what time we may get any? ?❄️

From about 4pm onwards we will see some heavy snow - and it is likely to last into the night.  Then we may well have another band of snow tomorrow afternoon.

Keep the faith it was always forecast to be late Thursday afternoon!! Things are looking very promising and you should get it at Shanklin before me in Newport so keep us updated as to when it arrives!!

Morning, folks, interesting to look at the wind gusts, GFS 6z has gusts peaking:

I'm unsure at the moment how much snow will reach Oxfordshire, radar watch necessary when this event starts.

Enjoy this while it lasts as can feel the M4 snow shield upgrading its firmware to M4iOSJellybean2.0 as we speak might be a long time before we see something along these lines

Is it me or does tomorrows snow look just as potent on the latest model output?

Annoyed I missed a great photo op yesterday. I was walking down Mewstone Avenue in bright sunshine with a snow speckled Great Mew Stone in full view.  I don't think I've seen that before.

No change here in Wembury at the moment. very light tiny flakes blowing around.  Not sure if it is new or just blowing around.

Temperature    : -3.8°C (Feels like -9.4°C)
Dewpoint       : -5.2°C
Humidity       : 90%
Pressure       : 993.8mb and Falling Rapidly over 3 hours <--- That low is on its way :)

The wind is absolutely brutal!!!

Yeah I just walked about a mile to our local store and back.  Its whats called a lazy wind, rather than go around you it goes right through you.

Still below freezing out there, - 3 in the car, having to keep getting rid of the ice from the bird bath, got icicles hanging all around the edge of it!

Garden full of birds too, keeping feeders topped up as the foods going down fast.
