Moderate snow in Bristol, cant believe the central heating has packed in what a day for it to go!!!!!

ours did too! the condensation pipe had frozen up (we didn't lag it, being in tropical Bournemouth). I had to use a combination of a hairdryer (leaning out the bedroom window) and hot kettle to the ice in the pipes. Seems to be working now....

And the temperature is still hovering around -5C. Not often you see that when snowing!

Current snap shot from snow.  Looks to be building up nicely off of France ready to start moving our way.

The British Gas phone number appears to be down as well! Luckily we have managed to get someone else over to have a look!!

9.15 and 9.20 radar return shows some building precip over Chichester /Portsmouth heading NE approx. Still a few flakes here despite the main band moving off a while ago so there's definitely scope for it.

Was not expecting to wake up to this snow this morning :cold:

Just fed the birds with some homemade fat cakes, feel sorry for them in this weather.

I'm late to the party again tis morning.  Horrible when work gets in the way isn't it :)

Very light snow and calm winds here in SW Devon at the moment. Air temp -4.4c, DP -5.8c, 90% RH.  Hence feeling much colder than yesterday.

I'm off to scan from page 182 onwards to se what I've missed!

You've still got more lying snow than us here in Yelverton ???

Big Ted the cat has gone from Wussy feline to Mr Macho, miffed at losing his security job here,he did hang on to his rat control bonus. He has sussed that the rats have made a path to the bird table,so even in light snow hes hiding behind dead foliage and giving the rats the big right hook,no he may be a southpaw [sorry lol] as they proceed, with dazed and frightened rats controlled the lad comes in,sits by his bowl, then points to his mouth, double ruddy bikkies, between the bikkies and bird food increased purchases,im going to end up like Toys R Us.

Was surprised to see a patchy covering of snow, but looking at the MO forecast looks like a massive downgrade for it to show a couple hours of light snow as apposed to the 20 odd hours it was showing yesterday.

Question,  do we think that the main band is going to still affect southern coastal towns and what time? Wondering if I should leave work early to get home?

In 20 minutes, a band stretching from Billingshurst to Poole has exploded into life on the radar, moderate snow here now. :D

Light snow will be somewhere circa 2pm, with heavier snow developing around tea time for our neck of the woods. My advice would be to leave work early. There's no point putting yourself at risk any more than you need to. :)

BMW per chance? yep mine too rear wheel drive - a waft of snow and we are sliding every where..

Same problem, I found it easier turning the traction control off believe it or not and putting it in manual.
