I'm now in a red warning for snow, now that's a first! Could look quite spectacular out there by the end of this event then.

Hoping this main event dumps a good amount of snow on Portsmouth, So far we must be the only place in the UK which hasn't had a complete covering of snow. Fingers & toes crossed.. :D

Horizontal snow means no accumulation to speak of yet.

I wonder where it's all getting blown to...?

Light snow and -5°C here on the Lizard.   Lots of drifting snow off the runway at RNAS Culdrose almost blocking the road on the way to work!  Looking forward to more heavy snow later hopefully!

Had heavy snow here for a while too, settling nicely and all before the main event starts later.

A lot of the stations in northern France currently reporting freezing rain/drizzle opposed to snow.

My parents are travelling down to south Brittany and it’s -7 and snowing.

But surely that means it'd be illegal to drive in a red area??.....no insurance means you're breaking the law

It' not true you are still covered, check the Meto site.

The first band seems to be heading way north of the region, down here it has already ceased snowing. Currently -3.7C with WB -4.6C

This is good news. Please let's keep the faith for later on and keep willing that radar to start looking pretty. I sent my daughter off to nursery this morning amidst much protesting about "snow daddy, you no drive..i stay at home with daddy". Promised her i would get her early and that there would be more snow later........please, please deliver!!

Persistent snow falling this morning and -4C. Very dry snow though so blowing about very easily like powder.

Stopped snowing here.

Roll on later this afternoon then.
Still -3.6c, but dewpoint is now only -6.7c
Wind has dropped too, 10-14mph with a few barely 20mph gusts.
Lots of good weather watching :)

To be fair to NK, If someone said it snowed in Wareham, it would be considered faker news than being illegal to drive in a red warning zone.
