Are we defo on for a good fall? Has the main area to be affected later shifted at all re model predictions?

The amber weather warning got smaller around 20 mins ago, but we're still well inside it.

I couldn't tell you much about model predictions but HIRLAM looked great.

Lets hope they extend the red warning area

did you know your car insurance is null and void in a red met office area..

But surely that means it'd be illegal to drive in a red area??.....no insurance means you're breaking the law

Hoping this main event dumps a good amount of snow on Portsmouth, So far we must be the only place in the UK which hasn't had a complete covering of snow. Fingers & toes crossed.. :D

So himself has just taken the baby to nursery  (I'm home alone and relaxing in bed with toast looking out of the windows). Her face when she saw the snow. She just didn't know what to think. She's only just a year old and I think hee mind was blown!!!! I can't wait for later as she just will love it.

Not true. Fake news. Not sure where it came from. Insurance as valid in a red alert area as anywhere else.

Another question......anyone have any idea how accurate the red warning for Scotland was? Was the red affected area smaller/larger than predicted?

Wow!   Red for us, that’s a first as far as I can remember.

of course, back in ‘63 forecasts were primitive to say the least.

we were buried up to the top of 6 foot banks in South Brent, S. Devon.   Got photo of dad digging a way through!

and it lasted for weeks too.

Friend who is a bus driver informed me of that yesterday.

That person is wrong. Its simply a rumour circulating the inter webs. I've had it checked out.

Deep snow drifts won't melt in a day.

The red warning doesn't start until 3pm and we already have over an inch of snow.

Still time for adjustments then :D

Grade A Baloney...

Might be a thing on their commercial policy re liability, but this is not a general thing for all car insurance

So feel free to go out and stick your car in a ditch if you like...

Are you going in to your place of work dec'10? I'mnot working o a Thursday at the Moment  so will be at home , however tomorrow could be fun if this lot sticks and settles .

Yes I’m already here ? snow starting to settle on main roads on the way in!
