Well I got it wrong and the Met got it spot on when I queried on here yesterday why the Dorset coastline wasn’t showing as more it risk.

I was anticipating a fraction more southerly in the flow than we got today. just didn’t factor in enough inflow into the trough ref the wind direction. My punishment was evidently to have to watch the lovely channel streamer stream away underneath me all day long.

I therefore predict I will get absolutely no snow Thursday! ?

Thought they weren't for seeding until April. I've not done anything yet.

They germinated extra quick and boy have they shot up. I did well with my broccoli last year, it seems to like me. But... I'll have to pot them on I suppose.. Something to do to prevent cabin fever.

Friday downgrade for me according to MO although Thursday still looks promising. Feel on the verge of a wobble but we'll see.

Working away this week, currently in a hotel just outside of Wokingham,

Had some decent snow showers yesterday, and it still makes me smile when people were watching the snow in the office, loads of people with smiles on their faces, people talking to people they wouldn't normally speak with, wish it could snow everyday - for me it just brings people together

NB - From my hotel room I can see light snow blowing around in the air, hoping I'll get some decent snow tomorrow in my current location, obviously would rather by home (Frome) in front of the log fire :D

Good luck to everyone on the SW tomorrow

Anyone want a step by step understanding of tomorrow's & Friday's potential snow, I fully recommend reading Nick F's recent post in the Short Range Model Thread.

Very simplistic but thorough and looking promising for many Southern & Western members.

Read it. Looks ok for us but not til Friday. Imby for Bristol.

For prosterity - read slowly. I did and it gets more and more hair-raising as you do. Then factor in how long we might have this snow hanging around. Will the cold stay? What's the latest, I daren't look.

Chief Forecaster's assessment

Widespread snow is expected to develop through Thursday afternoon and evening, accompanied by strong easterly winds, leading to drifting of lying snow in places. Around 10-20 cm is likely to fall quite widely, with the potential for up to 50 cm over parts of Dartmoor and Exmoor. As less cold air follows from the south, there is a chance of snow turning to freezing rain in places, with widespread icy stretched forming making driving conditions dangerous. The warning has been updated to reflect the growing confidence of a severe spell of weather and to remove parts of North Wales and Southeast England

Removing whole British districts is the most severe outcome though.

Just walked back from a birthday meal in town, seriously cold, snow flurrying and windy, minus 5.1c and I dread to think what the feels like temperature is!!

Is this long streaming line of snow on another convergence zone!
