It was snowing quite well at work when I left about an hour ago (near Bristol), the closer to home I got, the sunnier it became but it's clouding over now, hoping the snow has followed me.

Much as I love this weather and the promise of snow I do have to say, flipping heck that's cold out there. Today was not the best of days to be a gardener, despite proper clothing, I still got bleeding frozen.

Oooo, it did follow me, first flakes falling :-)

I would say that's a little further east than previous but happy to be corrected. @knocker thoughts?

Snowing here :D

Looking at the radar we have a few more to come in the next few hours. A  warm up for the main event maybe!

While we're waiting for the main event, the HIRLAM keeps parts of the region entertained this evening, with those showers exiting London at the moment.

As an appetizer, I'm quite happy to take what the HIRLAM is showing for tonight:

Fits in well with the showers showing up on the radar too:

Seems to be building off the Essex coast before moving across.

BOOM ...... DP has just hit -10.1C another record!!

Didn't quite get an Ice Day, got to 1C, but it's already -1.0C  now, perhaps another record tonight?

I can beat that!

Looks that way to me too. I still think it may do looking at the current satellite pics and looking where the fronts currently are.

Lucky sod, no such like for me this afternoon, showers are too far north to effect this area.

Yes, the radar does seem to show some 'ghost' snow at times, been pretty accurate for me though so far.

Hoping there won't be any such issues tomorrow with heavier precipitation!

Its not got above freezing here, not known it do that for a long time.

It has been hovering all day at -0.9c to -1.2c now all morning
There was a little spell around 2pm when it rose to -0.4c for an hour or so.
The dewpoint has all day been -10c or below, to a low of -12.8c at 1pm. It is  -11c now.

Bring on this Thursday snow,  getting impatient now.
Beeb has us down for snow all day, with 40mph winds 1-3pm and heavy snow early to late afternoon.
Met office has us down for light snow all day and 30 - 45mph winds all day.
Friday still looking good then for light snow with rain later in the day to freeze it over.

We are getting a few flakes in the wind here now and again this afternoon.

That's quite untrue jy. I offered you a bottle of our 49'er homebrew the other evening and didn't hear back.

I draw the line at keeping your knee blanket in place though.
