These showers just keep picking up moisture over Torbay, then intensifying over the South Hams Peninsular and dump it all on Wembury, Heybrook Bay and later down into the Lizard I guest

The snow seems a bit wetter.  It has obscured the lens on one of the web cams. Air Temp -2.6c DP -3.6c

There is one model that has a little extra for Dorset people - the HIRLAM - which has actually been very, very good this week so far:

Hope it works out for you!!

Re: Southampton, pretty much on the border of the heavy zone, though models such as ARGEPE/EURO4 have a bit more for you I think

Oh my days that would be awesome MWB :shok:

struggling to keep my composure here, gonna be a long tense night!!

Got a friend travelling up the M4 to Bath  v early Friday morning via Reading. Er i don't think thats a good idea but she won't be put off

She needs to pay careful notice of the MetO warnings.  Wrt the severity/colour coding of the one for the south west - The met office details indicate they are still considering the possibility of freezing rain and i feel that is skewing the impact assessment (although mentioning 50cm of snow over the moors may also have a bearing:cold:).  The likelihood of freezing rain has hopefully diminished but while the MetO are still mentioning it as a possibility, anyone thinking of driving thu/fri needs to take note.

Edit - just to add - that Lizard webcam link posted by Gibby is ace!

Need it to shift a tad SW.

Do you believe yet? I still have this worry about the freezing rain here (besides the whole lot missing me to the west tomorrow!). At least it looks like two bites at the cherry, tomorrow and Friday!

Is there anyone from the scilly isles on here? I'm assuming you are getting some lying snow looking at the radar? A wider question: have the scilly isles ever had lying snow in March, or are you likely to break a record tomorrow?!

Just had to chair a team meeting. It was the longest hour of my life not being able to check the radar.

Bright and sunny here in Bomo, reached a warming 1.2C so far today, all this talk of white stuff, sounds usual as it skirts around the snowdome in Dorset.

:nonono:we’ll have none of that :acute:
