Wow, that snow cover over the Benson frost hollow is going to make for an interesting temp tonight under these uppers! It might rise a bit before dawn though with winds expected to increase later on.

We have hardly got any snow. Just a dusting that's been frozen over. It's very crystalline and beautifully reflective . I've been out with my torch just watching these crystals (saddo!!). It's actually a stunning night, just make sure you're togged up. Up graded my hat and gloves from Uk winter to Siberian nomad

Yes Ian was rushed tonight. The producers of Points West obviously felt a story about knitted knockers (see Points West FB page) deserved more airtime than the forecast for the potential of quite severe weather in our region over the next few days.

As always, Ian was a true professional and did his best to fit as much in as he could in such a short space of time rushing through tomorrow’s forecast to get to Thursday.

Sadly this happens all too often on Points West with Ian given little time to deliver his forecast; even at times of severe weather. I like Points West but sometimes the program can be a waste of half an hour apart from the weather forecast.

Yes felt sorry for Ian tonight he was made to look like a right tit (pardon the pun). He should of been given more air time especially as it was a slow news day. Come Thurs/Fri they will want him on air every couple of minutes. He must get so annoyed with being rushed.

Benson the frost hollow will play a part but i agree. City centre is 3.5c. Just 1.5 miles east and in Headington i am at -5.1c.

Did you get any snow today from those showers Frosty Hollows?

We got a dusting, but it has stuck. Most of it seemed to go north of the Thames snow shield :wallbash:

I leave the PC for two hours and this happens!

First proper snow shower in Wembury.  It came down pretty well for 30 minutes and dropped around 0.5cm I'd guess.   Late to the party with the Easterly, but hopefully I'll be able to post early inroads from the channel tomorrow. I can't see that covering going anywhere soon! -1.6c, DP -4cCam2.thumb.jpg.9026a7aa12aa20e5e6fff34779168beb.jpg

Fantastic Steve, great to see someone on the coast finally getting some snow. Nothing here at Yelverton ??

Just watched IF forecast on points west

only 2-5 cm snow forecast during the Thursday Friday period .  Not so much of a nightmare really .

Yes the freezing rain on south coast looks hazardous

Indeed, starting to think that the amber warning is more for the prospect of freezing rain rather than heavy snow. Hope I’m wrong.

Thanks!  We got some slush that froze and hung around for a few days in 2010.  The last proper snow in Wembury was 1997 I think and that was very short lived.

Anyone from around the Dartmoor area on here? Met office shows heavy snow from 9am Thursday until Midnight Friday :shok:

Ties in well with the ECM 12z snow depth chart which predicts 30cm.
