I leave the PC for two hours and this happens!

First proper snow shower in Wembury.  It came down pretty well for 30 minutes and dropped around 0.5cm I'd guess.   Late to the party with the Easterly, but hopefully I'll be able to post early inroads from the channel tomorrow. I can't see that covering going anywhere soon! -1.6c, DP -4cCam2.thumb.jpg.9026a7aa12aa20e5e6fff34779168beb.jpg

Hah! Sorry for my earlier gaff! Forgot to put in the all important minus sign! What a plonker...

Anyway,  now down from the earlier -6.9c to -7.8c here.

Couple of beefy showers over Reading today and back in Newbury a very light covering. Driving home though the car temp recorded -8 and then 7.5 as I got home. Suspect then a lot lower to come.. don’t know what the dew point is..

Roll on tomorrow’s radar and thread watching ... what will it bring. Hmm.

Hmm, my forecast for tomorrow seems to have gone from sunny all day to cloudy with snow late afternoon/evening.

Wonder what has caused that to change? Not that I'm complaining mind!

Sod the snow, Tom Baker is trying to steal your car.

Or it's Kevin Keegan gone forward in time from the 1970's.

Seems they are wary of the LP centre tracking east of the current model consensus, as I can't see how else 20 cm is going to be possible here or even W and NW of here unless the snow-making ability of the initial upper warm front is being seriously underestimated by the models.

That the Friday totals are lower suggests they expect good mixing in of the dry continental air to limit the intensity of the slow-moving front. GFS 12z looks a pretty good match for their guidance - not often I say that .

met office app forecast seems to have downgraded the snow somewhat, still fairly decent bit not as good as earlier.

Mine has done the opposite.  All day I have had light snow symbols throughout Thursday/Friday, now I got me heavy snow symbols back;

Wow, that snow cover over the Benson frost hollow is going to make for an interesting temp tonight under these uppers! It might rise a bit before dawn though with winds expected to increase later on.

Well that was nice, had a brief snow shower that looked lovely falling. Not much but a slight dusting left behind (a touch more in Sidmouth where I was). Not as much as some have had though

Not nearly as cold here as many, -2.2C now. It's possible the wind manages to drop out for a while tonight, but maybe not which would be a shame as it's our only chance to get the notable mins that I'd get if it did.

In other news, yes please!!

Amazing how there can be such a contrast in temperatures in 15 miles or so.

Benson the frost hollow will play a part but i agree. City centre is 3.5c. Just 1.5 miles east and in Headington i am at -5.1c.

Did you get any snow today from those showers Frosty Hollows?
