Just drove back from Reading way to Bassett and between Newbury to just as you drop over the downs there was snow settled on the hard shoulder and the countryside was white. Back in Bassett and it’s like a different day!

Snowing nicely in Bristol just now, showers moving through quickly though so only leaving little dustings.

NB - the MetO  warnings for the SW being amber in colour - I think some may be interpreting them purely in terms of disruption due to snow?  If the details section for the warning area includes the terms ice/freezing rain in it's wording, then pay heed, as that will have a disproportionate bearing on the colour of the warning.  Freezing rain whilst hopefully unlikely would, if it occurs, be a very high impact event  - ie dangerous.

Indeed, I’d rather miss any of that thanks, it’s recipe for almost certain power cuts, not you half an hour power cuts either!

I don't understand what they're saying in the model thread mate, surely the met office wouldn't upgrade to an amber without real concern.

Don't worry mate they are probably just upset because it's looking good for the south?

I been watching that one.. it doesnt lose intensity.

You should get a covering from that, hoping for some showers to west to reach me later.

Decent snow shower here just now. Light covering on mostly everything and the temp has dropped quite a lot it would seem.

That's lovely. You've waited patiently for that. Hopefully you keep your covering. Its a whiteout to the snow starved and that's what matters.

...Its not a whiteout quite yet though :ninja:
