I'm sending them on down my friend, with strict instructions to pep up on arrival :D

Small flakes at present but the sky to my NE is looking pretty murky..

I’m ready. :clapping:

2 snow showers just missed here, 1 scooted of over North Oxford and into West Oxford. The other went over South Oxford. We had a few flakes in the wind. big towering cumulonimbus clouds though!

Is it me or are some of the showers on the front edge of that lot to the east intensifying a bit?

My friend says they have around 20cm. Alderney has over a foot with higher drifts. Ironic that they have the highest totals so far across the UK.

Met Office have delayed the arrival of the low from the South West.  Would you see that as an upgrade?  Does it indicate that it is starting to stall as it reaches the cold air?  I'm guessing the later it gets here, the more trouble it will have shifting the cold air?

Sun is out but still snowing a little. I feel a tad pathetic now as currently have BBC news24 on and a reporter is in N Yorks with a few inches of snow under foot:D

And now a reporter live from Ashford, Kent where it is a winter wonderland and still chucking it down:D

HIRLAM short range updated for the 6z - takes us up to Thursday and shows a lot of what @Bring Back1962-63 alluded to in his excellent analysis earlier (please go and read it if you can, it's on page 106 of this thread).

Graphics on News24 weather forecast just now look good for late Thurs into Friday, but Ireland looks like it'll get blasted.

I just watched some footage from North Kent and the intensity of it was insane.

Radar now showing 11:50 but looks dramatically different to 11:40. Not sure it’s right in what it’s showing.

The 11:50 frame is from yesterday, not sure why it does that but it seems to happen a lot lately.

Looks like the area over Kent is actually moving East, as well as the one coming down from the Midlands.

First image was at 1050, second one at 1200:
