The wind is already howling here, making it feel very chilly. Next week, Weds/Thurs could see gusts of 40mph across most of the South, combine that with temps around zero - baltic!

Met Office temps/humidty forecast suggests dew points of -13°C  and below.

We aren’t talking about your bog standard eastily here!! This airmass will be incredibly unstable, organised troughing is more likely than unlikely!! Then we get the systems pushing up into extremely cold air! We WILL be talking about this very cold spell for a long time!

Not many forecasted dry easterlies end up being dry, this beats isn’t forecast to be dry at all, the radar Sunday night into Monday and thereafter could be something to behold, I’ve no doubt at all we will all be in here urging showers, bands of snow or troughs to head West! Embrace this spell if you like cold, and brace yourselves for the cold because it’s coming!!!

Come Wednesday, such as the strength of the wind, showers will easily be crossing much of the country. So, flurries are possible anywhere.

Try some sticky foam that you can buy from most hardware stores like B&Q or homebase,  I think it's called stormshield or something like that.

On my door from the garage, I have also stuck the foil sheets that you put behind radiators.

You could also try fitting a very thick curtain with thermal liner.

How did you stick foil on? Our garage is part of the house so the cold comes under the garage door and then we have 2 doors in.One into the hall and one into the kitchen. No curtains I don't think as I'm pretty sure I sent some old ones to charity.Gah.I need to double check though incase they are in a junk box in the garage.

I used double sided sticky tape. Worked a treat.

There's something amiss about this chart. Wales certainly would not get away without at least a yellow alert along with Scotland. The use of  99% at the beginning is highly unprofessional. I smell a rat?

I didn't realise it was an England only system! They have jumped straight to amber? Yikes! So presumably red is not out of the question

This system by meto is for public service providers like councils. Take care type briefings.

That's because most models have the front too far south at the moment but that could easily alter

But then later :shok:

Hi-res models already picking up on precip accumulation making it into our region as early as Monday....that will only be enhanced imo the closer we get! what dry easterly :D

Not according to mad thread. Now expected to not even hit the UK but go into France. Expectations for down here have been over hyped yet again.
