Went to the Pennines in the end. Should have gone to Teesdale, but there wasn't time, so settled for Weardale. Couple of shots...

Here you go... I ventured fully out. 27991638_1593131500722016_1995411088115499008_n.mp4

Amazing view from mine right now moon and an angry orange sky!

Looks to be some hefty showers incoming to Teesside soon. Us in the south of the region have been in the sweet spot the last couple of hours. Now gotta look forward to my commute at 7am.

Even catching the odd shower here now although they are still perfectly aligned so I am in the mainly snowless corridor.  Quite impressive on the radar at least

Rush hour is going to be horrendous especially with heavy showers forecast. Think I might just delay venturing to work until mid morning. This is turning into an epic event for those South of the region at least. Expecting the MO to give us our bloody amber warning today.

Still not producing the good here in hunwick despite loads of lightening

That big blob directly east out in the sea is our last big chance, I think.

Seriously, is anyone getting proper flakes?

Seriously, in the last 24hr there has been no heavy showers and only a slight dusting.  Don't know what's more extraordinary, the blizzards hitting the region or that my area is managing to miss them.

However it's -4c here and wind coming of the n.sea which I don't recall seeing before

The story of our life nick.

fingers crossed the huge blob catches us.   The small showers don’t seem to be bringing much

Are there more chances during the day/tonight?

The only saving grace is that it appears to all be graupel.

Boom lightning, deep snow here drifting all over the place another wind is very strong, can't believe what I'm seeing to be honest

Proper flakes? Sorry to bang on but it's literally just graupel and has been all night.

Same mate. This is the closest we've had to 2010. The Beast from The East has delivered and it isn't finished with us yet! A proper old school dumping, its covered everything (deep, deep snow) and we've just had thunder and lightning as I'm typing away! Wow

Can't comment about all the showers but looks a mixture in the last shower, boom lightning again, how this doesn't merit a amber warning I will never know terrible from the met office

Anyone who ventures out in this attempting to commute they are mental. There is a real threat to life this morning.

Ha! Just had a text from the kids' school saying school will be open today!
