Went to the Pennines in the end. Should have gone to Teesdale, but there wasn't time, so settled for Weardale. Couple of shots...

Here you go... I ventured fully out. 27991638_1593131500722016_1995411088115499008_n.mp4

Yes already encountering some wet snow/sleet in some of the showers.

Maybe as temps rise a little today east coast and low lying areas may only see sleet/hail

I saw the back edge of that shower as it passed near me.  Really good stormy clouds this morning.  More income too.

It has warmed up quite a bit as shower cloud came in before dawn, but still just below freezing. (-6.5 at 2am)
Very trivial amount of fine snow so far,

Maybe 3-4cm on favoured surfaces. Was expecting the N sea to be a bit busier right now TBH.

Keeping an eye on this beefy shower (red dot is my postcode) - be good to see who sees sleet near the coast

There's loads of instability in the NS behind these showers.  The question is whether they fall as snow or sleet.

Looking towards that big red blob on the radar - I'm gonna take a direct hit please please don't let it be rain or anything less than snow! ?

Yes i heard the thunder too. I saw that cloud when it was out to sea from Windy Nook, it was really dark.

Showers really intensifying out at sea now.  Quite a bit of red showing on radar.  I would not be surprised that lightning is mixed in with these ones

It's gone proper dark here - light snow started now I'm still at the front edge of the shower / storm at the min.

We seem to be right in the gap of all the showers at the minute, fingers crossed we might see some of the big showers later.

You may be in in line for some actual 'Heavy Snow" falling (above 8/10 intensity)

He's talking about the kind of stuff that clouds together into one big white blob and just coasts the ground in minutes, looks to be heading into tyne and wear right about now on the radar. Couple of cms out of that shower possibly.
