Well last night just goes to show how hard it is to forecast storms.

However for april standards they were pretty impresive for those who got them

What a difference a couple of days makes, had to put the heating on this morning as temps only rose to 11C at lunch time before dropping off again. A very wintry feel after a glorious couple of rare Sunny Spring days.

The dog still managed to find the remaining bogs though in the fields, not helped being torn up by the cattle that the Southern farmer put out. Being a part time visitor he has no idea of our climate compared to Somerset, eejit. The public footpaths still requiring wellies still despite the sunny snap.

At least It was good gardening weather and got the lawn seeds started off finally.

Well the outlook looks dire . Soon as I buy my rattan sofas for the garden . Hopefully the charts turn too a warmer / drier outlook

Rain total is clicking up this afternoon, so much for 'April Showers'.
Just passed 4mm since 3pm, and at least three hours more.

Another chilly night with low of +0.9C
Patchy rain yesterday afternoon didn't amount to much, we look like largely missing the Monday rain too, which is just as well as it will be cold enough for sleet at least higher up.
After that a more decent period coming up. Though temperatures are still unimpressive, with any sunshine it will feel springlike again

Yes it has been rather chilly overnight and even during the daytime temps rather disappointing, certainly feels cool outside today and past couple of days actually especially in the wind.

No sign of any warmth in next 5 days, with temps only recovering to average by midweek.

rather boring if you ask me.

Can't believe I left a glorious sunny 28c in Wrocklaw, Poland yesterday landing in Newcastle with a daytime max of 8c and now scraping my windscreen for work. Looks like we're defo getting a raw deal atm if warmth and gardening is your thing.

Someone in model thread said wouldn't want too be within 20 miles of east coast , doesn't bother me full sun and a easterly breeze my house will shelter that so I'll be sat in the garden sun trap . :yahoo:

Not this morning, just back from Ruswarp and it was like driving through a monsoon.
There hadn't been much first thing and I thought we'd get away with 3  or 4mm, About 7mm now but must be about through.

More of the same next few days and just a degree or so higher.

We went up to Ridley park in Blyth yesterday, it was absolutely glorious. Drove down to Blyth beach and it was sooo cold and windy, couldn't believe the difference. It looked quite misty out at sea. As soon as we came away from the coast it was lovely and warm again. As much as I love winter it's been so nice to feel the sun these past few days, although as soon as it gets warm it seems like there is so much to do in the garden etc...

I ordered some last week and im devastated they weren't here for this weekend, I'm so scared this is all we will get for summer weather and normal British weather will resume soon 😂

So that is it for a truely remarkable bank holiday weekend.

Loads of sun and blue skies and record breaking temps.

Today was cloudier and notably cooler across northumberland, especially near the coast... With temps near 10.c difference to those further south across teeside (inland)

Another warm day tomorrow then back to average.

The mean for the first half of May in Gilesgate, Durham is 13.7degC. That’s quite phenomenal.

Down to -1.1C at dawn, it's already warmer than the last couple of day by some margin though.
