That's early to have them out though, another 10-14 days or so inside here is the norm
The drying winds today have made a big difference already.

The 'farmer' who bought the land from the coal board is from London and only visits when introducing new animals to the heard so has no idea of our seasons. The field grass is in no state of growing yet but I think he realised over his Easter visit that opening the shed was a bad idea with all the waterlogged fields.

Went to the Pennines in the end. Should have gone to Teesdale, but there wasn't time, so settled for Weardale. Couple of shots...

Here you go... I ventured fully out. 27991638_1593131500722016_1995411088115499008_n.mp4

Day of contrasts. Left Beadnell at 1:45 sunny but only 13.5 degrees, wind was onshore from south east, drove one mile inland car showing 21 degrees and then 25 degrees when I arrived back in Newcastle.

I had 26.2C in Gilesgate, Durham this afternoon, but not confident in it. Anyone else near Durham get anywhere near this?

Generally around 24 to 25.c with the highest temps down teeside way for our region.

23.0C here with VP2 and FARS.
In 2011 recorded 23.2C on the 25th but that was before FARS was fitted.

A very pleasant 24C near Consett, a big improvement on the last couple of let down days. A fantastic sunset and clear skies out there which is something of a rarity over the last few months. The fields are still very muddy so don't expect them to dry out before the breakdown but it's a start and good weather for gardening and outdoor painting.

Fingers xd we don't have to wait too many weeks for something a bit more substantial and longer lasting.

    Thunderstorm warning issued

    Darlington

    Durham

    Gateshead

    Hartlepool

    Middlesbrough

    Newcastle upon Tyne

    North Tyneside

    Northumberland

    Redcar and Cleveland

    South Tyneside

    Stockton-on-Tees

    Sunderland

    4pm to 3am

    What to expect

    • Some flooding of a few homes and businesses likely, leading to some damage to buildings or structures.
    • Possibly some damage to a few buildings and structures from lightning strikes with some short term loss of power and other services.
    • There is a good chance driving conditions will be affected by spray, standing water and/or hail, leading to longer journey times by car and bus. Delays to train services are possible.

Thunderstorms are expected to start breaking out from late Saturday afternoon over North Wales and will then become more widespread over northern England on Saturday evening. These will move northeastwards overnight, clearing during the early hours of Sunday. Whilst some places will miss these storms and remain dry, where they do occur some heavy rain and lightning is anticipated and in a few places there may also be hail and/or gusty winds. 15-20 mm rain may fall in a relatively short space of time with a few spots seeing close to 30 mm of rain.

It is a beautiful evening still 17 degrees clear skies, looking at the radar I think things are now starting to kick off hopefully some lovely light displays later, also really looking forward to the championship on channel 5 at 9pm :D
