If they are anything like our lot then no chance. Having the bin an inch open seems to scramble their senses, god knows what a cover of snow will do to them.

Looking at that, we’re in for a fair bit more snow here today.

The wind although still light has now swung around to an east to southeasterly northern half of the region could be the hot spot today

Yea i think we have all done pretty well so far. Not sure what to make of today. There is amber warnings out till 6 tonight but i cant see why as the shower activity is set to drop isnt it?

Cant see it dying off at the moment.  The showers are still intensifying fast over the sea before hitting land and then dispersing into larger showers as they head inland.   Looking like I might be in for my first direct hit shortly....

Not looking promising for Teesside at the moment. Most of the showers are fairly light with the heavier stuff pushing away to the north. Still, we've not done bad, got a few inches on the ground and saw some proper blizzard conditions last night ?.

Don’t know where abouts in Newcastle you are, but Winlaton, Blaydon, Cowgate, Wallsend and Benton are well covered and have experienced white out conditions on numerous occasions the past 24hrs. What are you wanting from this cold snap?!

Slight change in the flow has shifted the bulk of it to around Durham north

Leaving Ponteland in about an hour to try to get to TESCO and then to The Nuffield in Jesmond for my wife's physio, should be an interesting and hairy journey, wish me luck.

I'm still holding out hope for this afternoon onwards, from what I can see (untrained eye but ever optimistic) on the satellite the showers push further south later.
