Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

Sunshine and isolated heavy showers on Tuesday. Risk of further showers through Wednesday and Thursday, again perhaps heavy with a risk of thunder. Feeling warm and humid in the sunshine.

Yellow warning for thunderstorms issued

00:00 Wed 31 to 23:59 Wed 31

Further thunderstorms likely with a chance of flooding in places and possible travel disruption.

What to expect

  • There is a small chance that homes and businesses could be flooded quickly, with damage to some buildings from floodwater, lightning strikes, hail or strong winds
  • There is a small chance of fast flowing or deep floodwater causing dangerous conditions.
  • Where flooding or lightning strikes occur, there is a chance of delays and some cancellations to train and bus services
  • Spray and sudden flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures
  • There is a slight chance that power cuts could occur and other services to some homes and businesses could be lost

Thunderstorms and outbreaks of heavy rain already affecting some southern and western parts of the warning area during the early hours of Wednesday then become more widespread through Wednesday daytime. In a few places these thunderstorms could produce 30 mm of rainfall in an hour and 40 to 50 mm in a few hours. Some parts of the warning area will miss the heaviest rainfall.

Looks like Leyburn and Reeth got hammered.
https://www.thenorthernecho.co.uk/news/17804594.flash-flooding-strikes-dales-amid-summer-storms/
I think Arkle Beck has come out onto the road and gone through Fremington,  around Grinton Bridge in the pictures looks serious.

In the 80s I lived at Fremington and both the Swale and Arkle beck were notoriously flashy in thunderstorms.
Saw Arkle Beck go up ten feet in five minutes one day.

A lot of damage will be revealed as it subsides, to roads, bridges, walls and fences especially.
Further down a large caravan site is right by the river not sure if that would be affected.

I've added some labels to this aerial from twitter.

What mess, it looks like bridges blocked with debris have made things far worse especially Arkle Beck just up from Reeth Bridge - then it has run the wrong side of flood embankments

A yellow severe weather warning for thunderstorms has been issued for Sunday afternoon and evening

12:00 Sun 4 22:00 Sun 4

Scattered heavy showers and thunderstorms may cause some transport disruption and flooding on Sunday.

What to expect

  • There is a small chance that homes and businesses could be flooded quickly, with damage to some buildings from floodwater and lightning strikes
  • There is a small chance of fast flowing or deep floodwater causing danger to life
  • Where flooding or lightning strikes occur, there is a chance of delays and some cancellations to train and bus services
  • There is a small chance that some communities become cut off by flooded roads

Scattered heavy showers and thunderstorms are likely to develop across Scotland and northern England during Sunday afternoon into the evening. The nature of showers means that the exact location of where impacts occur is uncertain. However, showers may become slow-moving over some locations and could receive 30-40 mm of rainfall in one or two hours.

Updated thunderstorm warning

12:00 Today 23:59 Today

Scattered heavy showers, thunderstorms and torrential downpours may cause some transport disruption and flooding on Sunday.

What to expect

  • Flooding of homes and businesses could happen quickly, with damage to some buildings from floodwater, lightning strikes, hail or strong winds
  • Fast flowing or deep floodwater is possible, causing a danger to life
  • Where flooding or lightning strikes occur, there is a chance of delays and some cancellations to train and bus services
  • Spray and sudden flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures
  • Some communities might become cut off if roads flood and power cuts might occur and other services to some homes and businesses could be lost

Reason for update

Warning updated to extend validity time and northward extent of the warning and to accommodate an increase in likelihood of medium impacts, this mainly for Scotland.

Scattered heavy showers and thunderstorms are likely to develop during the afternoon and evening. Whilst many areas will miss the worst of these storms, torrential downpours are likely in some places. Where downpours occur, close to 30 mm rain is possible in a relatively short space of time and 30 to 50 mm rain could fall in a couple of hours. In a few places thunderstorms may also be accompanied by frequent lightning, hail and gusty winds. The heaviest thunderstorms are likely over parts of Scotland and northern England. These showers and thunderstorms will then start to fade during the evening and by late evening will have become largely confined to parts of Scotland and northeast of England.
