Tomorrow looks like sea fog and 11C at least to start with.
Not much better Wednesday.

Woke up to rain. But left all the outside cushions out. How quickly it can change.

Winds should start to go more south-easterly Saturday onwards so better chance of skies clearing. A small adjustment to more of a south south easterly flow and it's BBQ time again

I am in Ripon for the weekend, suppose to be sunny all day with temps possibly reaching 23.c

The wind been a notible thing down here which is certainly taking edge of the temps.

More low cloud and easterly seems likely for next week.

Small outside chance of a thundery shower here later this evening.

Fog over the moors yesterday evening was a dense as I ever saw.
Before sunset the ground has a touch of heat and you can to some extent see underneath it as the wind whips it across.
Later on it hugs the ground and things get wet with condensation.

Bit of both here, with half-hearted sun around the middle of the day reached 17C
Wind has dropped out so even when it's foggy it feels mild at 12C

Cloud broke up around 10.30 in ripon and temps soon shot up to around 23.c by 1pm.

Temps dropped by 3.c on way home to Newton Aycliffe despite it still sunny, the chill of the wind was more noticable back home too.

Back to gloomy conditions tomorrow, maybe some thundery conditions later in week.

Rather relentless this low cloud and gloom from north sea, be it northeast, east or south east.

If only this was mid winter guys ?️ ❄️

Yellow rain warning issued for tomorrow

Between 09:00 Fri 1st and 22:00 Fri 1st

Thunderstorms are likely to affect northern and western parts of the UK during Friday.

What to expect

  • There is a small chance that homes and businesses could be flooded quickly, with damage to some buildings from floodwater, lightning strikes, hail or strong winds
  • There is a small chance of fast flowing or deep floodwater causing danger to life
  • Where flooding or lightning strikes occur, there is a chance of delays and some cancellations to train and bus services
  • Spray and sudden flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures
  • There is a slight chance that power cuts could occur and other services to some homes and businesses could be lost
  • Durham
  • Northumberland

Further details

Scattered heavy showers and thunderstorms are likely to develop during Friday, particularly the afternoon and then easing only slowly through the evening. Some places will miss the worst of the heavy showers and thunderstorms, but where they do occur they are likely to bring torrential rain with the potential for 20-30 mm of rain to fall in an hour and perhaps as much as 50-60 mm in 3 hours in a few locations. Lightning and large hail are also possible.
