Much more seasonal for the 6 days or so once we lose the colder air

Continued hints of it turning unsettled and colder around Easter and into April

It could be a very poor Easter for seaside resorts and tourist hotspots if the longer range models are correct

What a lovely morning bit nippy but the sun is shining . Looks like some incredible cold air for Easter weekend with snow showers off North Sea . Hope it changes

Going by tonights models, we could end up having a very snowy Easter.

Low pressure very close by and with us on the northern side of these with very cold air to our north and east flooding in... Recipe for huge snow potential.

Still a slight chill in the breeze but when it stops and you get in the sunshine it is certainly starting to feel much more pleasant now

Thought so, think i went to the magpie last time i went to whitby.

For a few days maybe, then the snow army will be back.

We need prolonged snow for any meaningful lying snow this time... And that looks very likely.

Don't worry they're waiting on the sidelines ❄⛄❄

Can we get the elusive continuous 6 months to match the 3 continuous seasons of snow, Fingers xd

Well yesterday was lovely, washing dried on the line, it felt warm in the sun...it then lashed down overnight and it's grey, miserable and breezy this morning. I'm sure the last few years March has been a nice month. My youngest was born March 2012 and it was absolutely glorious around the time she was born. I've heard a lot of the older generation saying a cold spring means a hot summer. I just hope they are right!

Whilst I tend to agree from the later day runs, I think we'll have to wait until Sunday late day runs for any definitive answer. For us up here it may just be a case of a short drive to see some, but as I keep banging on, its the marginal events (barring our recent Hollywood Beasts) that tend to tank our region at the realms of either side of Winter.

If we can get a decent North Easterly  which still looks promising for up here, then I might finally get to finish off my last couple of bags of grit. I'm still smug from the delivery driver taking the micky when I ordered them well before The BEAST part I ?

Today has definitely felt like the first day of spring, some decent heat in the sun, clear skies most of the day and not needed the heating on....long may it last.

Although the easter period still looks on the cold side, it's not going to be as cold as indicated a few days ago.

However what looks more clear is that it will be rather unsettled with low pressures running across southern parts of uk and with us mainly on the northern side of these and the colder air very close by, i can see a few snow events over easter.

For now, high ground most favoured but will not take much of a change in conditions to get snow to lower levels.

Very tricky period coming up and detail for easter will be a few days away yet.

There seems to be some indication of a marked improvement during first week of April.
Still a way off ,but the longer the cool temperatures persist, the more dramatic will be the sudden change eventually.
