Remarkable evening for mid March with heavy snow showers leaving 4cms of dry, powdery snow on even main roads, and with the temperature below -3c this spell is giving Beast 1.0 a run for the money.

Surprised you guys to the east of the Pennies haven't had more depths, still plenty of time.

Andy

Too windy and a lot has been graupel so just blowing around.

Showers also passing through to quick so although very heavy at times not lasting long enough.

Bad on higher ground this from Go Northeast

" DUE to the adverse weather conditions in the Consett and Stanley area, services are operating main roads only. Prudhoe and Rockwood Hill roads are impassable. "

And many of the showers fell when the ground was still to warm earlier , starting to accumulate now though, drifting most be a major issue on any exposed roads

Yep.  Hit and miss these showers.  Just like the last Easterly blast for my area.   The showers form too late in the N.Sea and get blown past quickly.  You need to be at least 10 miles inland.  Bring on the NE or N winds any day for me.  Slower moving showers with greater longer lasting intensity.

A lul here too, just missing me for past hour now with just the odd fleeting shower.

Always difficult to pin point where showers will align.

Of course some hit the jackpot and other get the booby prize.

had some decent snow showers this evening, has not amounted to much just a nice dusting, I've quite enjoyed this late taste of winter so far and there is still a window of another 12 hours or so for more snow - so enjoy -

Good covering here hard to measure as it's drifting all over the place probably average a couple of inches. It's piling up a quarter of the way up my back door crazy and still coming down

Only 1/2 inches here but can't complain this winter has been phenomenal. We've had everything. Blizzards, drifts, extreme wind chills by BI standards. It's been a good'un. Do we have anymore snow forecast today?

It's still snowing now mind. Roads look treacherous. Stay safe folks.
