What a difference a week makes up to the dizzy highs of 7.5c so far with a few patches of blue sky starting to develop

Haha, nope!

All gone here too.

Just patches left in fields along hedge rows and where drifts have occured.

Been a wet cloudy day for most with some torrential rain first thing, alot of flooded feilds too.

Met office snow warning issued south of our region

Chief Forecaster's assessment

An area of rain will arrive into southwestern parts of England and Wales later on Wednesday evening. This will move northeastwards and turn increasingly to snow over the high ground of Wales, parts of the Midlands and into southern parts of northern England overnight and through Thursday morning, with some snow to lower levels later. Much of the lower ground will see little if any snow accumulating, but 1-3 cm is likely in some places, with 5 cm above 200 metres and possibly 10 cm on roads above 300 metres. There remains some uncertainty in the northward extent of the sleet and snow into Thursday morning, before it clears eastwards.

Again we have bbc going against the metoffice once more.

BBC saying dry tomorrow morning where as met have a band of rain/sleet/snow getting up to durham by mid morning.

I really think the bbc should have stuck with met, not saying met are always correct as that is not the case...

But so far meteogroup have been poor to say the least leading to some awful forecasts by bbc.

It has mainly turned to rain now here. Upland areas will have done ok out of this.

Light sleet/snow in aycliffe just before i left home.

Snow didn't come to anything in town other than dampening the ground should brighten up across the region by this afternoon with temps around 6c or 7c

Yorkshire got the best of this event when it stalled over the top of them. It wont last long with the temps predicted but nice all the same.

They were both not far out, it hasn't got much past Stockton and Darlington
BBC was saying dry day here but that was wrong though, a good 2" already.

Poor from both beeb and met by the looks?? I only watch met you tube channel for forecast now,and they also had this as a 'just over high ground event' I'm only 150m asl. Very heavy at moment and settled easily.

A mostly sunny day so far, shame there is no real wamth to go with it. After another frosty start temps up to near double figures but still a chill to the air especially in the shade.
