I think it's because storm Emma is slightly further north pushing warmer air up with it.  I heard that on TWO and sure someone mentioned it in the MOD thread the other day that it could happen but happy to be corrected.

The coldest uppers were yesterday.  They are gradually warming a bit from the South.  Its been -0.8c here all night.  Must be that bit further North thats making the difference

Me neither. And it almost appeared out of the blue. Possible error? I'll keep an eye on it anyway ?.

Well with Met office radar showing showers pushing east from the sea after a gap and the forecast showing heavy snow around 23:00 is this boring night about to get more interesting?
