I think it's because storm Emma is slightly further north pushing warmer air up with it.  I heard that on TWO and sure someone mentioned it in the MOD thread the other day that it could happen but happy to be corrected.

The coldest uppers were yesterday.  They are gradually warming a bit from the South.  Its been -0.8c here all night.  Must be that bit further North thats making the difference

Me neither. And it almost appeared out of the blue. Possible error? I'll keep an eye on it anyway ?.

Just checked lampost, still those tiny flurries blowing in the wind. Been like this most of this afternoon.

No staying up tonight, hopefully wake up to a better stream of showers from north sea.
