Didn't the 2010 cold spell breakdown keep getting pushed back and back, will that be the same here?

More times than not this happens, meto update for march signals cold easterly flow throughout with limited mild spells.

Models slowing things down too.

One thing most likely is less cold, but that still means cold and below average temps

apart from the last few flakes I,m getting at the moment I can't see on the radar where my next 'scattered snow shower' is coming from!

suprized these warnings are still in place for most of the region

 Sorry had to laugh mate.  It's grim but I'm holding on to hope once that LP moves a bit.

Might get a bit from the front coming up tomorrow night. Probably have a lot of cloud now for the foreseeable. The lying snow going nowhere fast

Think that is the only positive from today... NO snow melt.

In the words of Bob Ferris, I refuse to discuss the matter.

Me and the radar had so many arguments last night, I thought we might as well just get married and be done with it. But today I my resolve is unshakeable and I won't even give her the time of day, for at least half an hour.

Bbc app for my area says 5c from Monday and 1 or 2 at night. Could do with that dropping a notch really if to catch up to 2010/11 season for lying snow. All next week is asking a lot:D

Most of the region shower free apart from far north . Few flurries around but about it . Met office radar shows showers coming in through the night

Been constant light snow here all evening with the odd moderate burst.  If the showers are going to come back, I cant see it happening before midnight, as least and will more likely be in the early hours.

I also think the Amber warning is due to the winds causing severe drifting.  Basically any road which runs perpendicular to a long field where the snow is blowing along is at risk of being blocked.

Where do you see that radar?  The met-office one is down due to outages

I agree it looks naff but the warning specifically mentions 5-10cm widely that's pretty specific (as well as over the hills).  If the warning was purely for drifting then this is what it would say.  They either need to take the warning down for snow or something will happen we don't know about yet.

Well my new game is seeing how big the icicles get off the roof. Got a 3 foot one so far. Watching the big freeze on channel five. Live updates.

I cant see anything coming on the visible satellite images due to all the cloud from the LP to the SW.  Will have a quick look at the radar before bed

Temperature on the rise here, nearly above freezing now. Still blowing a gale mind and feels bitter.

Big blob appeared in the North Sea according to the radar. Not moving in any particular direction though. Almost appeared out of nowhere.

You mean the ones shown here?  Does show a clear gap then showers out to sea

Unless they're heading pretty much directly West, I can't see them hitting south of Newcastle.

Need the temperature to fall. I'm completely baffled as to why we're above zero.
