I seem to be in this long row of showers for an hour. This should be fun. :yahoo:

Is that red blob over you? Looks like it's heading to Boro next. To my untrained eye the winds have turned Easterly in South of region

I am west to you but when running the radar it looks to be a decent line of showers that seems to suggest they will last a little while.

The showers seem to be getting heavier hard to tell how much is coming down in each shower as it's blowing all over the place. Temp down to -2.6 here now thats astounding with the wind so strong of the sea

Is this the most active this thread has been since winter 10/11 I wonder? It reminds me of late November 2010 very much.

The current synoptics demonstrate easterlies can bring snow to the west of the Pennines, provided when long drawn and combined with cold uppers. I always thought today would be the best day for snow here, charts very reminiscent of 26/27 Jan 96, but pity we couldn't have had a more organised trough feature move through.

Hope we see an inch or two overnight, but shower activity tomorrow looks much less intense.

Shower here now and just had the most intense winds I have ever seen during snow.  Must have been storm force for a time as it was lifting my letter box which is very rare.  Looked out and I could only just see the houses over the road.  The snow blowing off every surface and swirling around.  Very very impressive.

It was a brilliant spell on the forums that year I remember not being able to get out of my house for days. Just walked to the pub every afternoon , tragic

Definitely not many gaps between the showers now and they gain intensity when they get close to land
