fair enough, looks like newcastle missed mostly everything fun. Maybe tonight/tomorrow will give us something.

How much snow have you got? The showers did look more hit and miss than I thought they would be but from what I can see, there been a decent covering across the region.

Well slight wind direction has changed us from getting a red warning to sun.

Tbf we had our fireworks last night. This to me is starting to rival 2010. 2 days of significant snowfall at the end of February and possibly more to come. I thought yesterday was good but last night and this morning was extreme! Huge drifts even in lowland areas. Blizzards through the night were unbelievable. It took me 40 minutes to drive from Boro to Stockton for work.

Here’s hoping for another dose of the white stuff tonight.

Izi where in NCL are you? City centre is getting pasted where I am.

South Gosforth.

Seem to have missed most of the sustained snow. Showers of 5 minutes or less only.

There is about 2 inches on the ground at most, including the previous snow.

But to the north/south/west of us there are 5-6 inches widely. Just been in a narrow band of unluckyness!

Gosh you're near to us yet such a difference in conditions. Cars are struggling to get up the hill to the Tyne bridge round the corner from us.

So after a lull in the showers for central and southern areas of our region the radar is showing more instability breaking out now widely to the southeast of the main bulk of showers.  If these continue to build and intensify then the above areas of the region will also see more heavy snow and ties in with the Meto forecast!  This certainly is a memorable event especially this late in the season.

Yes I can see that.  Suppose I am comparing them to the showers further north that are huge out to sea.  I hope the trend continues......

These ones are definitely intensifying as they move towards us and can't see any reason why they'd just die out.  Might take an hour or so but looking good so far!

I hope that continues and by this evening they look like the ones up North in the sea.
