Gone very dark here in Washington all of a sudden and light flakes steadily falling - I love this!

5/10 intensity and dark.  It really does feel like deep winter lol

We've got sideways snow here in jarrow, haven't seen snow like this for a long time. Tried to video it but it doesn't show well on the camera

Managed 10 holes at Bamburgh GC today, very surprised as had 3" in Newcastle when I left. Snow all the way up spine road and as far as Embleton, but none at Beadnell, Seahouses and Bamburgh right on coast. Quite a marked difference between the lower and higher parts of the course in terms of snow cover. Eventually had to give up when big snow shower came through, but fantastic place to be in heavy snow. Holy Island and area behind Ross Sands looked snow free. All looked great when the sun came out. Lunch on the way home at Warkworth. Top day out !

Travel news on BBC radio 2 has just put a warning of white out at Angle of the North. Yup they are correct. Even the gritted road is white now. ?

Yes there’s heavy stuff to the north and just to the south. There’s a chance it’s early and pot luck but worryingly it matches the warning maps

Love how sticky the snow is.  I cleared all the back garden paths today and this shower has deposited at least another cm in about 10 mins.  It's sticking to everything so accumulations are going to be high in places that get stuck underneath them.

North sea looks juicy and it's only going to get juicer as the day / night wear on.  I should be going to bed for work but guarantee I'll still be on here at 2am IF there's the chance of more snow lol

EDIT: Now turned into very fine graupel type and driving on the wind.

Gone dark in Middlesbrough with moderate snowfall, forecast for heavy snow showers most of the night. Already had 9cm (roughly) from last night, so maybe a repeat tonight?

Already had 1cm in past hour and it's still 12 hours away from amber warning :yahoo:

Easily another 2cm dropped from that shower. I've already swept the snow from the paths just before it hit.
