Well.  Nothing on the radar yet that would warrant that.

Are they moving in slightly north east direction, hard to tell on the radar as it keeps playing up.

Some potent looking showers appearing now, think a lucky spot may get thunder snow tonight :)

At the moment I'm struggling to see how this will even come close to a 2010-type event in terms of the power of the N Sea.

Ive never been a great believer of their forecasts..But every chart/forecast that shows extreme weather deserves a little exposure...:whistling:

At this point it never would.  It needs for the showers to get more organised into prolonged snowfall.   A trough?  Or maybe just some more intense convection driven by stronger winds and colder air.   I am presuming that one of these or something similar is forecast to happen tonight, otherwise the warning does not make sense

Only downside of the snow, when I take him for a walk he brings most of the snow home with him.

Lets see what happens when we get into the amber warnings.

It's certainly starting to gather pace now.

I'm sure there is a trough on the fax, add in to that more instability, 850's of -14 and the wind picking up. All the ingredients there for me :)

Just watched the latest met office forecast if anything the showers become less widespread tomorrow afternoon with the focus shifting to NE Scotland, Central Belt and maybe down to Northumberland

There's something about the combination of your tendency to spread bad charts/forecasts and that avatar that just really gets me... :p

Gone very dark here too. The little ice balls have started. I have noticed the showers start that way with the bigger flakes to follow.
