Convection seems in line with the warning being further north. Not as much activity in the south of the region

That's going to change looking at the current radar

Quite a heavy snow shower now in Gateshead. The roads are all clear. But should add to the 3 to 4 inches we had overnight.

So you're pretty much under an amber warning but the computer generated symbols says light snow.....makes sense lol

Ignore them radar and nowcastingall the way.

Light to moderate blowing snow now. Nothing too heavy yet...

Best snow of the spell for me right now. 7/10 for intensity and nice big flakes.

Which part of Washy you from mate? It's getting heavier but not too bad here...

I'm in Barmston/Concord depending on home or work. Visibility down to 100m at the moment, I'm hoping this is the start of a good spell.

Another really heavy fluffy shower here, bringing the tally to day 27 ? and not one emergency called up here ?

Just had a massive heavy snow shower/strong winds in Newcastle. I’ll bet my house on these pepping up towards dusk and beyond to give a good fall overnight for my area.

The generous covering we already have will, I think, be even more generous by dawn tomorrow.

The shower got really heavy just now. Shame you can't see the flakes in the pic.

The showers in the 1991 Eastery, you would have trouble making out the house over your back fence.  Hopefully they are still to come

Amazing what a few miles makes I'm down Teal Farm and that shower was moderate at best for my location.

I'm checking out those juicy showers off the coast hopefully with my name on it from a purely selfish POV lol

I'm sure 4pm was the next main warning, not sure if it's changed but looks like a non stop snow maker out to sea.

The local school called the parents in 30 min ago to collect the kids so they must have had some info I think.

The showers are fairly well scattered at the moment leaving some decent sunny spells in between
