It's a strange morning really. With snow on the ground and the sun out, it's normally a case of 'thats it' and you watch it all disappear. Knowing there is much more to come and that this cover isn't really going to go nowhere, that is a strange feeling.

Given there is already 15cms in parts of Kent, my faith in those charts, especially where convection is concerned, is not particularly great.

Hi all

about 5 inches on the car and some rarely seen icicles hanging from traffic lights - very cool! Feels lovely in the sun.

what are people’s expectations for later and tonight? Forecast yesterday was also for showers turning heavier but it never happened. All snow was from the low system

The North sea is beginning to come to life again now. If it continues then a couple hours from now snow showers will be inbound...

Happy. For the first time ever, I've been able to tow my 6yr old daughter the 1 mile to school on the her sledge. To see the look of excitement this morning.

Everything else is now a bonus ?

I can't be as active here today unfortunately duento work but it's good that I can't hear any dripping! Hoping for the snow machine to fire up soon.

This will be the culprit for continuous snow with little breaks inbetween. The train from the Baltic..!!

Not much melt if any,  my icicles are still there. The north sea looks to be firing up again

They know how to deal with that sort of depth at Rothbury - same as here, however the problem over the next couple of days will be drifting filling roads in within minutes if they are exposed..
it's already starting to waft abut here.

Some beefier looking showers just starting to pop in to range. Probably fits well with the few hours the Met had it quieter :)
