Accumulations from the past 6 hours. Looks like the hardest hit was even more north than we thought, somewhere like Chillingham doing the best.

Quite a few inches here in Washington, playing the radar back I caught a good streamer through the night.

Big convective showers heading due west now, looks line ones about to hit.

Not sure on depth here, but decent cover, no where near as much as the last big snow event in january though.

Hope these showers just get bigger and bigger as we head through the day.

Temp had dropped like a stone here down to -1.4 now and still dropping.  Where there has been melt ice will be a real danger. More snow showers incoming will be much drier type snow. Convection kicking off in the north sea and moving west

Light snow here now. Had around 4-5 inches overnight with no melt. Plenty more brewing in the North Sea

Looks like a more organised through forecast for 8am here, although I'm no expert as reading these convective signals. Seems to be indicated on the 2am FAX update.

Definitely more organised band of snow heading towards us, going to be a entertaining day. Temp still dropping here down to -2, Dew point -4

Really quite a few inches, how many? Picture of Gateshead shows a skittering at best..

Was this amber warning justified - possibly, has it delivered, not at all, many places have seen an inch at best.

Alas, wait for the convection through the day, some very heavy snow showers likely.

The Amber probably wasn’t justified but we’ve definitely had more than an inch here having just ventured outside. Between 3/4 inches.

All kicking off about poor snowfall in the Yorkshire thread. As Doc said this morning, we had more here in the January spell. I await 10ft by tonight or.im calling this spell a write off ?
