Snow picked up a bit here in Newton Aycliffe. My Mum is having an operation in the RVI today. Have a funny feeling going to visit her over the next 7 days could be interesting!

Convection picking up in the N.Sea.  If this continues I suspect we will get moderate snow showers by the afternoon

So a light dusting of snizzle on the car roof this morning, currently light flakes falling. All eyes to the radar during today and the high rotates bringing us a stronger, more direct flow. Also of note, let's see where tomorrow's feature sits on the 6z charts.

The shower alignment looks perfect for our region later on Tuesday.  If you are lucky enough to be caught in the line of shower it can snow all day

Shower moving through now, I'd give it a 4/10. Proper flakes now no more polystyrene. Covered the ground quite quickly but the ground temps must still be above freezing as it's melting away quickly.

Wind is picking up now. Light dusting of polystyrene balls this morning which melted quickly. Temp was 1 on way in to work. Radar looks busy but producing nothing at the minute. I wonder what time the bigger showers will start to build? maybe late afternoon?

Still light snow showers in aycliffe, but what did settle early is melting.

Nice to see the snow non the less.

Think tonights low will bring a fair bit to most the region and is trending slightly further north.
