Where's that for, doc? I keep losing the link to where you can enter any coords and get the ens.

http://www.meteociel.fr/modeles/gefs.php

I normally just click on map near us, but you can enter them on above link if you know co-ords.

Nice ECM. I reckon we could still do with a further shift north if we want to avoid the major fun being further south.

I know these should be taken with a pinch of salt, but the latest ECM looks like an upgrade in accumulations. Between 8 and 10 inches ten days from now. It's certainly nail biting times, especially with the MOD bias ?

Excellent ECM and GEM this evening GFS ok as well, UKMO is the one that concerns me hopefully it will back track tomorrow the rest are cannon fodder they only come out when it's showing what people want to see, onto the GFS 18z at 9.30, emotional rollercoaster :D

JMA starting to push the colder air a bit further north mid next week poor southerners might have to put up with rain whilst the north gets pasted

Jesus!! Yes please!

Am I right in thinking that doesn't include convective snow either?

I would expect more accumulations to show nearer to the coast if it included convective activity but a Geordiesnow said they do factor them in on the coast but are unable to factor in the length of track inland. Certainly sonething I will be checking on to see if they fair better in easterlies.

I don't like the 18z much.

EDIT: It gets epic though!

I also think that it is very different towards the start. Frankly, if it gets that wrong, the whole run is for the bin. I guess it's not worth getting hung up on longer term details.

Really? This run is perfect for us, low pressure, cold uppers, snow and more snow.

It's looking great for us I think . I hope that shortwave does hang around copious amounts of snow and the southerners would hate that

You're right the Southerners would hate that Mr Murr has already binned the run. :D

See my edit. Great though it is, it doesn't look right to me.

Wouldn't that just be the icing on the freezing cold, snow-covered cake.

Great 18z for us. If a Polar/Siberian Low develops in that unstable Easterly/North Easterly flow we could get north of 8inches in one fall, easily. Add that to the convective snowfall amounts and we're looking at potentially very significant totals.

On the downside, I could do with doc's 250 quid as I'm on strike for 14 days from tomorrow!

Now, let's not be hasty! Seems a bit of an extreme step at this stage. Maybe a thin undervest?

On Friday am I'm making a long trip up to Stanhope N. Pennines to look at a house. Just me and the dog. Will I make it up there and make it back same night?

Nervous about the drive as it is, let alone deep snow. Hopefully it will start on Saturday. But if earlier, I'll have to cancel.

You will be fine, snow showers not expected till sunday evening and any disruptive snow will be mid next week anyways
