We’ve been here before with that ‘ECM’. I’ve been on here long enough to know when I wake up in the morning it’s all been watered down.

But with the SSW, and the MO being so bullish, I’m starting to get a bit excited, just really hope the UKMO comes more on board...

Must say though, when I saw that ECM tonight I almost p1ssed a bit ?

I really hope this comes off. The 2009-2012 winters were fantastic for snow in the SE.....LETS get our snow drought over and get buried in the stuff

Saw one big old Bumblebee last Wednesday at my local RSPB reserve,

Lots of kids playing on the beach at Sheringham today, also one hardy bloke stripped down to his trunks and went for a dip in the North Sea.

MetO have been very bullish & remarkable with their colder outlook despite the models playing up due to the SSW.

The 19th Feb is when the changes commence and the colder conditions will slowly take hold as the week progresses into the following week including March.

We could be looking at an incredible cold and snowy period.

I sooooo want to believe but I just cant yet. All the years on here (14 and counting) Member number 8 would you believe has seen soo many cert horses fall just before the line. But granted the Met boys at Exeter seem excited.

One thing in our favour and what I am liking is the traditional route from which all strong cold spells start namely the 4-5 days of Clear freezing weather before the snow comes, that lays the foundations so to speak.

November 26th to November 30th 2010 had freezing cold clear days interspersed with freezing fog that never cleared at times, and then the snow came and stuck.

So lets see if the Models are still showing favourable things at the start of next week before we pop the corks.

Remember we are still at days 8-10 from this point.

I wouldn't want to try that - the sea off the Norfolk coast is chilly even later in the summer - this is the coldest time of year!

I've had a few snow events this winter but it's typical that i fly to Barbados on sunday just as an Easterly sets up and threatens to bring a real dumping end of next week onwards :nonono:

Hope you all see something decent over the coming weeks :cold:

Beautiful day here today, I didn't even need my wooly hat for my walk by the Crouch, I was however annoyed I didn't bring my proper camera (well, when it's my job I don't shoot for fun as much as I should, I always take it out for snow though). Had to make do with an iphone snap.

Hi good evening peeps hope you all had a good Friday and are all ready for the weekend.

Its been a lovely day here in Walthamstow today felt really spring like. Just watched the met office extended forcast on the BBC and I was so surprised to how much detail had changed since yesterday. The confidence seems to be growing for this easterly. However the presenter did say that it was not all set in stone yet, but according to the forcast easterly beginning to set in by Tuesday and then snow ❄️ could be on the cards later in the week.

So caution is still needed things can still change. We cold lovers have come on this journey together on here and the past few days with the models has been tense to say the least. I really hope we get to our destination now .

Fingers crossed we are all on this together . Keep up the great posts it's always a pleasure to read.

Wishing you all a great weekend

regards ????

This does look like it “could” be a memorable cold spell if it comes off.

I’m sure someone will know, but when did we last have -15 uppers in the region?

Jan ‘87 is still the best and coldest snowy spell I’ve experienced.

I can remember the snow showers starting in the afternoon as I walked home from school and then being off for, I’m sure a week, afterwards. And those were the days when schools didn’t shut when there was just a cm on the ground!
