I don’t want power Daniel   :sorry:.... I want pure white ,deep , crunchy under the foot snow ! Snow you can play with ... yes it’s a tall order so please Mother Nature don’t disappoint

I don’t think it’ll be powder nearer the coast. It certainly wasn’t in 87 or 91. Though drier than our usual snow I’ve seen true powder. I could clear my driveway in cana by blowing it away when it was true powder.

Welcome back, CK :) You’ve come back at a pretty interesting time! This upcoming spell reminds me of the classic E’ly episodes that will always live in my memory (‘87, ‘91 for example). You certainly do have lots to contribute here, don’t let the weather get to you too much. Living here, you get used to disappointment!

You’re a star mate!

I know we’ve always chatted about hot summer weather in our patch, but now we have this alien notion, cold and snow ??

It is still very much hit and miss for the inland areas of our region, plus the coastal areas might suffer slightly from the warmth of the sea. That is probably why places like Dover, Deal etc are not within the MetOffice warning areas.

Gutted. I thought nothing was marginal this time round but guess same old for us coastal towns ??

Don't be gutted yet, just as we shouldn't get too excited yet.

It looks good for a lot of us, with the chances that it could be memorable, but we need to get that much closer to the timeframe before we start making conclusions.

Think it's more a case of showers reaching you. Nothing to do with temps or coastal areas. It can be cold enough for snow and it doesn't snow - You still need the showers.

@Steve Murr, I know I’m a little too far west and north for a traditional streamer, but I do vaguely remember one a few years back. Do you think, with a 90 degree flow, it may be possible to drive the flow west?

Also, back in 1991, we had snow moving readily east to west. I think this may have been a result of much lower pressure moving north from France

Not posted in hear much before, grown up since my last few posts. Not sure what is going through some people’s mind on hear tonight, on the verge of something historic. Watching Fanny Smith in freestyle skiing highlights, might try it on the way to work next week.

yes

also im interested what convection Kent can sustain in the deep cold SE winds-

once the track gets less than 40-50 Miles it will potentially dry up unless theres any troughs !
