BBC weather at the moment is absolutely disgraceful, not hardly mentioning anything serious just saying going be very cold hello!

That is really quite sobering, given our own temp differential is ~20 degrees.

Christ. Had to actually talk to the missus.

Wife: You have been glued to that phone lately, you looking at porn or something?

Me: Yes, yes I am...

Wife: You dirty b****** what exactly are you looking at?

Me: The ECM 12z

Wife: What? *snatches phone*

Wife: FGS you are the only bloke in the world that would rather have a five knuckle shuffle over a poxy weather chart, than Mila Kunis

Me: Well it would take an absolute 10/10 bird to get me away from the charts right now.

Wife: Goodnight, enjoy the sofa.

Me: Oh well, peace and quiet. Bring on the 18z’s

Wife: W*****

Louise Lear forecast on London regional weather was extremely underwhelming. Dry, but we "may, just may, see some snow Tues night into Wed. One to keep an eye on". Strange?

Giving the models are jsut starting to pick up on a thames snow streamer during Monday I think thats somewhat odd comment to make, though I admit it is a little too early forthe beeb to be making that sort of call.

As Steve said, probably a foot is quite possible if a streamer does set-up, especially given the flow doesn't really change much at all for at least 3 days and we probably shift from E to a ENE then back a few times.

If we do get snow I guess it will be the powder type that I last saw in “91 was at school where it was so windy and drifting the middle of the road were actually ok just the drifts 4ft drifts either side . Would be a site to see if this ever happens again!

The MetO are already suggesting possible 'Significant Snow' for next week. The MeteoGroup's BBC Weather presenters are lagging behind big time

Just worth noting the WRF higher resolution is just starting to come into range and suggests a thames snow streamer setting up around 9am on Monday.Normal locations that get hit.

Just popped into the Mad thread for a change. It's been a while since I've ventured there, but to be honest the information given in this thread is much more informative.

Maybe it's the clear speaking or the local friendliness, but it's definitely better here than over there!

Officially excited now, enough to trawl back through years of photos on my Facebook to find a picture of the snow in Haywards Heath in March 2013 (the last time we had anything more than a sprinkling of snow here).

That snowfall featured the best drifting I’ve ever seen in the UK, which isn’t saying much as I’ve lived in Haywards Heath for all but 4 years of my life, but the snow spoiler on my car that day made it look much cooler than it actually was.

Just shy of an inch in a 4hr period on the 12z WRF high resolution run in the favoured spots of S.Essex/N.Kent near the Thames. Nice trail ofa dusting to the west as well. This may IMO be a bit of a underestimate as well and maywell get upgraded down the line.

Which is a bit of an awkward one considering they have to work with the MetO in extreme weather events...
