Showery rain yesterday evening and overnight, turning to snow showers during the early hours, some of them briefly  heavy. A W/NW gale for a few hours late yesterday evening, and for an hour or so after midnight, with several gusts over 60 mph.

Clear spells overnight, widespread frost. High and mid level cloud increasing towards dawn. Overcast this morning, frost melted. Light to moderate rain setting in around 08:30 GMT. Further intermittent light to moderate rain through the morning and in to early afternoon. The rain stopped mid afternoon though staying overcast, turning mild.
