Spent most of the day at the airport watching the passenger airlines, nice crisp morning with plenty of ice and frost around which quickly melted once the sun came up. Bitterly cold wind still in places where it's exposed but nothing a few layers couldn't handle.

With all the flying I've done recently the thought of  being at  an airport irks me somewhat, lol

Yeah it will be lovely, sunny, very cold and dry.

The SE though would probably get a load of snow.

I' waiting for that HP to migrate to Greenland, then it should be then for us.

Snow would survive the pennines in that surely?

Well I'm certainly hoping for the Easterly to verify for the end of the week as I'm off walking in the Lake District next weekend. The Easterly would likely mean perfect walking conditions there, sunshine and freezing at most levels and a good solid snow pack for perfect winter mountain walking conditions!

A bit of sleet falling when it first came light but before long it was just plain old cold rain.

hopefully the clearance will come through early enough to not spoil the rest of the day, especially as we look to be the only part of the country under wet conditions and that today is meant to be the better of the weekend.

All in all that is a hell of a potent Easterly in FI

If it ever comes off

SW MOD thread should be a blast.

I know these charts are very crude at this range, but seriously, how!? Snow immediately to the South, East, North and West of your location, including out to sea. Yeah right Mr GFS!!!!

Would indeed be very fun.

The signals of an easterly beginning as early as Tuesday/Wednesday seem very likely, even if to start with it's not very cold and extremely dry, it opens the door up for some very cold and very snowy weather. Would be a nice way to see winter out.

I mean Wednesday is going to feel cold coming on the back of the mild few days we're about to have.

But then it just seems to keep deepening. I mean imagine this actually verifying.

I doubt I felt the earthquake. Ignore this post.

Maybe fracking? If so expect that company to get a ticking off.

 Magnitude 5 S Wales.

Didn’t feel it as I was walking back from the shops at the time. Lots of reports on Facebook though. Gutted as been 10 years since the last one here and I have to go and miss it.

No surprise really but nowt here.

As Di Ox would no doubt say, at least our region has missed out on the worst of the earthquake affecting other parts of the country.

Yes at least it was a 'mild' earthquake...

Normally I have felt these rare earth tremors over the years, but this time didn't feel a thing.  I hear the epicentre was Swansea area
