wish i could its a hell hole on many levels, inc the weather.

I cant tho, for various reasons.

Whether its NW, WNW , W, the showers miss this area virtually every single time.

EDIT and these showers are defo coming on a NW wind contrary to every thing i have seen, so that explains why nothing getting near MBY.

Yep it's frustrating how the showers are heading into Tameside and High Peak rather than Oldham borough.

Greater manchester area has to be looking towards Blackpool area for the showers to hit this area and the radar looks dead there so next hour or two minimum looks a dud..

Looks like a NW steering wind until later and into Monday morning. The may turn more Newly this afternoon with the showers developing in the channel N of the isle of man getting more of a chance to hit us!

If the showers are around overnight it's more interesting, slack westerlies, slower moving showers and more potential for big accumulations. We shall see!

So it is only 09:40, the coldest air is yet to arrive and showers are forecast all day and likely to be heaviest this afternoon and this evening and people are already calling this a fail!? Give it a chance at least!

Plenty of snow falling and settling now at 150m so bodes well for later for lower areas

The shower seems to be breaking up.

Well at least its dry so any snow will stick here.

Just had a flurry ?

Which went by in a hurry.

Radar looking a bit speckled now so showers could crop up anywhere.  Long day ahead folks, don't spend every minute on here, you'll get depressed.  Do something for an hour or so and check-in every now and again to see the current state of play.

Updated Manchester Airport TAF still going for chance of thunderstorm and heavy snow and has brought this forward to 10:00, going through to 20:00. Everything still looking great.
