Yep still a dusting here, it’s being blown around. Don’t expect it to last much after midday. The latest Liverpool TAF predicts rain/drizzle for tonight. Have a feeling dps will still be below zero so snow for a bit longer. At least the football is back.

Interestingly, on the other forum they are also talking about summer this year being cool and perhaps wet, followed by a memorable winter 2018-19...just as I was saying earlier...

Interesting that Mr Gaze has said he has already mulled this over as a possibility.

Of course it will we all know the people on TWO can forcast 3 months in advance

Could be a spell of snow this eve for a few hours before finally turning to rain.

Real risk of ice pellets this evening if there is any precipitation as we start to develop an inversion at 900 MB.

Here is how I see it panning out. Assuming we have precipitation: powder snow until 19:00; ice pellets until 21:00; powder snow again until 00:00; wet snow untill 08:00; freezing rain/rain after 8:00 tomorrow.

This might be the pattern going forward.. if so cold could last well into April or May. I do subscribe to the cool summer scenario as I think that's where we are heading along with a sub 10C year.

Better tell the plants to stay under the soil for a while longer...

Main Jet stream still wanting to head way south. There could well be snow surprises still this month especially from Midlands north and not just high ground either.

Yep I even think this week coming there could be some more surprises. All we need is an off-shore wind and we at least have a chance.

Historically, apart from a very potent north-westerly, that set up is the best for us. As we’ve  seen this week, Easterlys  just don’t seem to deliver enough snow.

Do you not go in for the storms in the summer? I’ll be getting excited, Mostly in vain, on the convective thread all summer.

Hi mate,

Nevermind the blues over the Pennines, i'm hoping for a massive 3 points for the blues today, time for snow to take a back seat far more important issues now.

We have only won once away all year, not all season, all year! Playing terrible football so my hope is very slim. Sadly a feel you will get your first win in a while today.

I take it it is still on? Roads ok?

I’d love you wish you luck for you localish derby today but I just can’t seem to get the words out of my mouth.

what i will say though is good luck for whatever lies ahead after today’s game. :D
